Spliced Steels / Loft Conversions
Adding extra space to an existing home is an ever increasing option for families who need more room but don’t want to move house.
Typically, there will be at least two steels required running on each side of the longest length of the loft or attic.
With the constraints of an existing building, installing long steels can be problematic therefore it is common practice for the Structural Engineer to design spliced steels so they can be fitted in sections.
At Cotswold Steel, we can produce the steels to the engineers’ specifications, including all necessary flange and web plates and fixings.
All sections are manufactured and fitted together in our works before disassembling for delivery and installation.
