Reinforcing bar also known as Rebar is a ribbed steel bar used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and masonry structures. The use of rebar enhances the strength and durability of concrete structures and helps to resist tension forces that can cause cracking and failure.
Rebar comes in a variety of sizes, with different diameters and markings to indicate the steel grade and bar size. At Cotswold Steel we stock the following bar sizes; H10, H12, H16, H20, and H25.
The H is a grading that translates to ’round area high yield’ the numbers are the diameter in millimeters with H10 having the smallest diameter and H25 having the largest diameter.
Rebar is generally used alongside Mesh products in order to create steel rafts for reinforcing concrete foundations. This can range from a house extension right up to major industrial works such as Train stations, Power stations and warehousing.
All of our Rebar is kept in stock lengths of 6000mm but can be cut down to any required size. If you know what you require, and would like to order straight cut or stock lengths of rebar you can now do so using our online order page below!
Alongside stock and cut rebar we can also offer a cutting and bending service if required. Please click the link below to find out more!
